Harry was running late as usual. He didn't apparently want to wake up today. Of course he wasn't the only one running late for breakfast. As a matter of fact he'd rolled over to see Ron still in bed snoring away. He laughed to himself and walked into the bathroom to get ready for the day. That was until someone ran up the stairs and screamed no classes today. Harry sighed and dragged himself out of the bathroom ready for the day. He was still hungry so he might as well go down to the Great Hall. With any luck Ron and Hermione would meet him down there. That was if Hermione wasn't already there.
He skidded to a stop at the doors of the Great Hall and entered. There was a rush of noise that greeted him as he entered. A whole Hall busy with excitement over the fact that they wouldn't be having to go to classes today. He saw a few students looking not to happy about the fact that they had gotten up but everyone seemed rather happy about this. He sat down and looked at the food laid out before him. What exactly did he want to eat today? He looked around not spotting Hermione and still not seeing Ron. He was sure that he might have left before him but maybe not. He took a piece of toast and some juice and an egg and began to eat slowly.
What was he going to do with this day off? They could always go visit Hagrid or find something else to get into trouble with.

Ron was happily snoring away in his four poster bed when he awoke with a start. One of the other Gryffindor boys had stormed to his dormitory and starting running his mouth off about classes being canceled for the day. Groggily, Ron groaned and rolled over, pulling his crimson covers over his shoulder - too tired to even catch the reason why the classes were canceled. A smile on his face, he shut his eyes and dozed off once more..
Half an hour later, Ron's eyes opened slowly and he stretched, craning his neck and peering around the room. Harry's bed was empty, so Ron assumed he'd already gone down to breakfast. The thought made Ron's stomach grumble noisily and, getting out of bed, he rushed to get ready and head downstairs.
Ron was assaulted by the delicious aroma of breakfast as he stepped foot inside the Great Hall. Licking his lips eagerly, he approached the Gryffindor table and spotted Harry munching on a piece of toast and some egg, wedged between a couple of noisy first years.
"Oi! Move." Ron demanded, shooting them a stern look and indicating the other end of the table with his thumb. The first years shot him a terrified look and scattered, causing Ron to smirk a little bit then laugh. He grinned goofily at Harry, taking a seat beside his best friend and wasting no time piling his plate with copious amounts of whatever foods were in his reach. "Morning 'arry" he said through a mouth already stuffed with a danish. "Classes are canceled. That's brilliant, that is.." He swallowed hard and took a long gulp of pumpkin juice, beginning to feel like something was missing. Ron wiped his mouth with the back of his hand and peered around the Gryffindor table, his brows furrowed. "Where's 'Mione?" he asked, shoving a piece of toast into his mouth.

Harry smiled as Ron walked into the Great Hall. Now the day could start. Though they were missing a certain female. He was wondering what the infamous Hermione Granger was doing. Actually he had nothing against her and he knew that he and Ron would be in deep trouble in classes and everything if they didn't have Hermione with him. He actually wondered at times how long they would last without her. Last year had been rather interesting come to think of it. They had both been really worried when she didn't show up to class because she was tired. He was hoping she didn't go off and do something strange this go around. He shrugged it off as he watched Ron made the first years around him scatter like little scared cats. Okay so he couldn't think of anything better. This was turning out to be an interesting morning already. "You know Ron... You shouldn't scare first years like that. Remember we were them at one point." He let out a laugh at his own stupid comment.
"Yes it is brilliant but when one things of Hermione maybe not so much so." He watched his friend attack the food that was on the table. After all the boy could eat just about anything without a moments hesistation. Harry tended to like to taste his food at times. Ron just engulfed half the time. A piece of toast when into his mouth as he asked where Hermione was. "I haven't seen her. She's probably trying to figure out how not to go crazy with classes being cancelled. Though come to think of it she could very well be in the library getting ahead of us all like usual." Sometimes he swore she never slept with how perfect her work could be at times. He was sure he and Ron didn't help much with the times she had to talk them out of trouble.
"So what should we do with this day off?" He completely changed the subject. After all when she wanted too Hermione would show up. Least that was what he was hoping. If not they'd have to go hunt her down. He didn't trust them being on their own for too long. Dumbledore's death had hit him pretty hard and though they said he died of old age something just seemed off. Of course that was Harry for you and he was probably reading into it too much. It just didn't seem right to not have Dumbledore smiling down at all of the. He looked up at the staff table and noticed that Mcgonagall was not there this morning. He shrugged it off and turned back to Ron after quickly finishing his eggs that were on his plate and taking a drink.
